A good English 14 bore double barrel percussion shotgun. 30" nicely browned stub twist Damascus barrels (very good bores and barrel wall thicknesses). Back action locks with border and foliate engraving. 14" chequered stock with vacant white metal shield underneath. A nice English gun in very good working order.

A good .577 cal Snider Enfield Cavalry carbine. The lock with cup faced hammer is marked 1864 Enfield with crown broad arrow ordnance ownership mark and crowned V.R. to the tail. Walnut stock with regulation brass furniture (butt trap cover missing from butt plate), has opposed broad arrow 'sold out of service' mark to one side and (South African?) unit markings of S.A.C.C. & R.C.C. to the other. 19.25" barrel (Birmingham proofed) with short carbine rear sight, is fitted with a locking Mk3 breech block with Snider patent mark. In good condition with good to very good five grooved rifled bore. Good mechanical order, nice sharp wood with no splits or cracks and clear markings. Some original blue to barrel near breech and good blue/brown patina to rest of metalwork with some old, very light exterior pitting to barrel. A nice example of this hard to find carbine.

A very good .577 Snider action sporting rifle by J H Crane of London. 28" round barrel with a mint bore, bead front sight with rear sight of one standing and 3 folding leaves. Figured walnut half stock with vacant oval and horn tip. Border engraved lock signed J H Crane. Birmingham Blackpowder proof marks. A lovely piece of sporting history with a bore to die for.

A 19th Century double barrelled percussion Coaching or Covert gun by Stevens of London. 25" Damascus steel barrels, signed STEVENS * LONDON in gold on the top rib, nicely engraved steel locks, signed 'Stevens' with Dolphin hammers. One piece figured walnut stock with vacant oval. Wooden ramrod with brass cap and worm. A lovely wallpiece which would grace any pub, restaurant or country house.

A very good 34 bore flintlock muff pistol by Utting of Borough, London. 2" turn off barrel, overall length 7". Engraved action with 'Utting Borough' on one side and 'London' on the other (both in stand of arms panels), Concealed trigger which drops when cock pulled back to full cock. Fully functional with good springs. One piece flat sided walnut grip. Engraved top safety. Vacant silver oval in grip. Full colour throughout (possibly an early re-finish). Birmingham Company Proof marks.

An interesting, 36 bore Scottish all metal percussion pistol by Bryce of Edinburgh, circa 1850. With browned 51/4" octagonal sighted smooth bore barrel signed 'Bryce Edinburgh'. White metal 'saw backed' frame and trigger guard incorporating foliate engraving on frame, grip, trigger guard and top tang. White metal ramrod loop with steel stirrup ramrod. Blued steel hammer and belt loop. Fully functional and in good condition throughout.

Second model .31 cal 5 shot percussion pocket revolver (approx 900 made).5" round barrel (fair to good bore), fluted cylinder, removable sideplate action with simple foliate egraving, 2 piece hardwood grips. Barrel marked 'BACON MFG Co. NORWICH CONN' and bearing serial number 1006 (circa mid 1860's). The revolver is in good mechanical order with very good cylinder lockup & trigger release. Gray patina overall.

A good .36 cal Colt Model 1862 Police percussion revolver with serial number 2147 for the first year of manufacture (1861). 51/2" round barrel bearing ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK US AMERICA. 5 shot half fluted cylinder bearing PAT SEPT 10th 1850.Brass trigger guard and 2 piece walnut grips. Matching numbers throughout. This revolver benefits from having an excellent (near mint) bore and is mechanically very good with excellent lockup and a crisp trigger release. Overall grey patina with a small amount of original colour showing through in places. Minor external pitting to left hand side of barrel. A very nice early Colt Police.

A good .28 cal percussion Colt 1855 Sidehammer Pocket Revolver (2nd model) commonly referred to as Colts 'Root' Model. Early serial number of 9363 (circa 1857). 31/2" octagonal barrel with fair bore. Hartford barrel address with pointing hand motif. One piece varnished walnut grip. Externally retaining about 30% original finish in places. Mechanically sound but missing cylinder pin retaining screw (which does not affect functionality).

A stunning Starr Arms Co. Single action 1863 Army model .44 cal percussion 'presentation' revolver, serial number 52123. Profusely engraved with leaf patterns on barrel, frame, cylinder and trigger guard. Full nickel plating on same with blued loading lever, hammer and trigger. 8" round barrel (good bore), one piece hardwood grip. Signed 'Starr Arms Co. New York' on left of frame with 'Patent Jan 15 1856' on right. Mechanically excellent. Supposedly, a lot of these were bought up after the American Civil War and 'commercialised'. This one has an interesting Middle Eastern inscription on the side of the barrel which translates to 'Freedom' so this may well have been a presentation piece to some middle eastern revolutionary.

A very good Remington 1858 .44 cal New Model 'Army' percussion revolver. Serial number 82543 (all matching) for 1863. 8" octagonal barrel (very good to excellent bore) with bold address on top flat. The revolver has been re-finished at some stage in it's life but this has been done to a very high standard. There is some minor loss of blueing to barrel where loading lever catch has been re-soldered on. Two piece walnut grips with faint cartouche on left hand grip. Mechanically excellent with very good cylinder lockup and crisp trigger pull.

Provenance: The serial number indicates the gun was in a batch issued to Company D, Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry on 3rd Feb 1865.

An exquisite little French 60 bore flintlock muff pistol in a contemporary hollowed out book. The book is entitled 'Lettres de Henri-Marie Boudon, Grand-Archidiacre D'Evreux' and was published in 1785, which makes the pistol the same age (or earlier). 11/2" turn off barrel, action engraved with Stand of Arms on both panels, concealed trigger, one piece walnut grip. Mechanically excellent, the only minor defect being the back of the top slide safety has broken off. Imagine travelling, in a coach, through the French countryside in the late 18th Century with this little baby (concealed inside the book) as your protection!
